Q: How long have you been with DCRWD?
24 YEARS
Q: What is your favorite part of working with the District?
There are a lot of things I like about the work I do daily, but the District’s purpose to help the environment by keeping our water clean, and the people I work with would be the top reasons.
Q: What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?
This District was formed in 1979 because of the groundwater pollution and failing septic systems in the county. We answer to a 7-member Board who are appointed by the agencies the Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management requires.
Q: How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been with the District?
I started the month the first billing was sent to the Royerton customers, on February 2nd, 1999; billing, collections, and customer service were my job duties along with any other work that came up. We accepted cash and checks for payment. We had DOS-based software and no internet. Now I am the Office Manager/Bookkeeper, our software system is web-based and we accept many forms of payment online, over the phone and in the office. There have been a lot of changes, (all good!) over the years.
Q: What do you think makes our team and employees unique?
We all work together every day to make sure the District is running properly and to do what we can for our customers. We are like a well-oiled machine and we all take pride in the work we do.
Q: Favorite song, musical artist, book, or TV show.
I love all kinds of music but classic rock is my favorite. Stephen King is my favorite author.
Q: When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing with your free time?
Spending time with my family is my favorite! My grandbaby Kenzie brings me all the joy!! Family is everything!!
